Two different claims are often filed under one heading, and this page keeps them apart.
Ascension is being taken up without dying — the person leaves earthly life directly. Raising is dying and being restored to ordinary mortal life; every person in that group died again afterwards. Collapsing the two loses the distinction that matters most in the sources.
Enoch is the figure that connects this page to the rest of the app: the seventh patriarch, taken up, and the narrator of the ascent through the heavens that the Heavens Portal is built on.
Recorded as removed from earthly life directly, without an intervening death. A very short list, and both entries are contested in their own traditions.

Elijah was taken up into heaven in a whirlwind, with a chariot of fire and horses of fire (2 Kings 2:11). Elisha saw it. No death; direct ascent. Associated with Mount Carmel and the prophets.
Recorded as dead and then restored to ordinary mortal life. Distinct from ascension: these people died again later.
Lazarus of Bethany, brother of Mary and Martha, was dead four days and buried when Jesus raised him (John 11:17, 38–44). Jesus said: Lazarus, come out. He came out bound in grave clothes. Many believed.
The son of the widow of Zarephath had stopped breathing; Elijah carried him upstairs, prayed, and the boy revived (1 Kings 17:17–24). The woman said: Now I know you are a man of God.
The Shunammite's son died; Elisha lay on him and prayed; the boy sneezed seven times and opened his eyes (2 Kings 4:32–37). Raised by Elisha at Mount Carmel.
Tabitha (Dorcas) died at Joppa; she had been full of good works. Peter prayed and said: Tabitha, get up. She opened her eyes and sat up (Acts 9:36–42).
Eutychus fell from a third-story window during Paul's long discourse at Troas and was taken up dead. Paul embraced him and said his life was in him; he was restored (Acts 20:7–12).
