← Glossary · Races and alias races (glossary)

Races and alias names from ancient to modern tradition—cosmological, mythological, esoteric, and contactee. Each entry links to a detail page. Races are grouped by category with hierarchy tier (1=Angelic, 2=Fallen angelic, 3=Hybrid, 4=Giant lineage, 5=Human, 6=Other) and genetic human link (hybrid, human, human_linked, angelic).

The same catalog is drawn as a tree on Race trees: heavens, Earth and the underworlds as crown, trunk and roots, and a second tree for man, Adam, Eve, living kinds and bloodlines. A leaf opens the race it names. Open the hierarchy in 3D

Races of Giants (7)

Races and lineages, not named individuals. Nephilim and Gibborim are the angelic–human hybrid generation; the rest are the post-Flood peoples scripture names as giant lineages. Named individuals are on Named Giants. The Watchers named as the fathers of the Nephilim — Shemihazah, Azazel and the rest of the two hundred — are under Fallen Angels and Grigori / Watchers.

The shared -im is Hebrew grammar, not a mark of giant-kind. Biblical Hebrew makes a masculine plural with -im (ים). English kept that plural on these names instead of adding “-s.” The same ending is on Seraphim, Cherubim and Malakhim, and on ordinary peoples the English Bible usually translates away (Pelishtim became Philistines). A form such as “Anakims” is the Hebrew plural with an English “-s” added; this catalog uses the Hebrew plural once. Under it sits a singular the text often never uses: one gibbor, the company of gibborim.

Deuteronomy 2 is the chapter that sorts the post-Flood names. Before Israel crosses into Canaan, Moses cites earlier displacements: Moab took the land of the Emim, Ammon the land of the Zamzummim, and the Caphtorim the villages of the Avvim. The Emim and the Zamzummim are both called tall as the Anakim and “accounted Rephaim,” so Rephaim functions there as the class name and the other two as local names. The Horim of Seir, whom Esau displaced, sit in the same chapter as the parallel case; the text does not call them giants, so they are not in this seven. Gibborim is a title Genesis 6:4 puts on the Nephilim (“mighty ones”). The same noun later names human heroes, including David’s men.

Races genetically linked to humans

Races with direct genetic connection to humans across the ages: angelic–human hybrids (Nephilim, Gibborim), giant lineages (Anakim, Rephaim, Emim, Zamzummim), human lineages (Adamites, Noachites), and tradition-linked peoples (ʿĀd, Thamud).
