Tradition

Libyan giant who forced all comers to wrestle and was invincible while touching the earth, his mother. Heracles lifted him clear of the ground and crushed him. Plutarch records that the Roman general Sertorius, disbelieving the local story, had the alleged tomb opened at Tingis and was astonished - an early instance of a giant claim being physically tested.

Named in Greek, Roman, Norse, Islamic, Celtic and Asian tradition. Recorded as tradition, not asserted as history.
