Bronze giant who circled Crete three times a day hurling rocks at approaching ships. A single vein of ichor sealed by a bronze nail ran from neck to ankle; Medea caused the nail to be removed. Often read as the earliest automaton in Western literature.
Named in Greek, Roman, Norse, Islamic, Celtic and Asian tradition. Recorded as tradition, not asserted as history.
