← Glossary · Glossary: Soul concepts · Glossary: Soul transformations · Souls in realms
What the traditions mean by soul, and what they say happens to it. Two sets of records: concepts — the vocabulary each tradition uses, which does not map cleanly from one to the next — and transformations — the transfers and changes of state a soul is said to undergo, with the realms they move between.
These are documented positions held by named traditions, recorded with their scriptural references where they have them. They are not presented as agreeing with one another, because they do not.
The vocabulary of the soul by tradition. Terms that look equivalent in translation often are not — each is recorded under the tradition that uses it.
