Scrolls

Son of the Watcher chief Shemihazah and the leading giant of the Qumran Book of Giants. With his brother Hahyah he receives a dream-vision of a tablet washed clean by water - read to them as the coming Flood - and sends Mahaway to Enoch for its interpretation. Survives in Aramaic fragments and in the Manichaean version as Sam.

Named in the Dead Sea Scrolls (notably the Book of Giants), 1 Enoch, Jubilees and related non-canonical literature.
